Nursey

Year 2010 had ended... we are now in Year 2011....

This year, Jayden will be attending Nursery... and tomorrow, 4th Jan 2011, will be his first day in school... Actually for my students.... It will the first day of the Secondary School life...

PCF had thoughtfully shorten the class for the first 3 days from 2hrs to 1hr...Thinking that this is to help the kids get used to the class as well as school... Class will only back to normal on Friday...

Hope that everything will turn out to be fine tomorrow

Back to work

After enjoying myself for the past 7 days, today I finally returned to work.

In the morning, I overslept for about 30mins... Luckily I woke up in time... to prepare for work. Am feeling so sleepy at work today...almost dozing off...

Maybe I should count down... another 1hr 15mins and it will home knock-off time... How I hope time flies faster... Could be knocking out any moment from now...

Out of a sudden, am feeling very tired today. It had been for quite some time.

This morning, Yueling called me about Facebook, Restaurant City. Ain't these kids playing too much computer games nowadays?

Jerry is going on half-day leave. He just told us a few minutes before lunch time. Shouldn't I be the one going? I am sooooo tired. How I hope that I am the one who is going instead.

19th June 2009

On this very special month, 3 of the QAs will be celebrating their birthday. First, will be Vikki, Birthday is on 4th June. Next is Elizabeth, on 14th June and the last is Akshata, on 29th June. However, on Akshata's birthday, she will be going on a 3 days holiday in Malaysia, JB. According to her, it will be a trekking walk through a waterfall....

We all planned to leave office at 5.15pm sharp, just to make sure we can reach Marina Square early just to shop around. However, we wasn't able to leave on time. So we left together as a Team, walking to Yio Chu Kang MRT station.
We are all going to dine in Thai Express in Marina Square.

We were all late. Poor Joanne and Mervin were both so bored just waiting for us to arrive. Majority of us had curries with rice, be it yellow or green. I had Tom Yam, my favourite thai soup. But so sad, I didn't get my Avocado drink. Jerry, picked something non-spicy and enjoyed too...

After dinner, Edwin suggested to go to a Philippines Bar, 7107 for desserts. That's a cosy place. We all ordered their speciality, Special halo halo. It's something like Ice Kacang, but it's without Ice and it's full of milk and a ice-cream on top of it. It's simply delicious. As they had singers singing, we decided to dedicate a Happy Birthday Song for the 3 birthday babies....

It was so touching. They served them with a slice of cake too. But none of them cried. Hee hee... We called it a night at about 10.15pm.... it's running late and everyone had to catch the train home... except for me... I got to get the bus...

Happy Birthday to all the 3 babes.... Next will be Joanne's Birthday... see how we gonna thrash you upside down....

Second Project - Sleeveless V-necked blouse

Upon completing the first piece of project, my teacher allows us to take on a more challenging project. Fully no restrictions. My second project is a V-necked sleeveless top. There will be cable knit on the front of the blouse.

The process
This second project also took me a few months to complete. I first started working on the front piece, where I had to work on the cable. Whenever, I had some problem with the stitches, my teacher always helped me to correct them. After completing the front piece, then I started on the back piece. My teacher actually asked me to knit cables on the back piece too. But to me, I feel that it will be odd, hence I made a plain one instead. Without any designs, just knitting and purling.

As I always like a V-necked line, I got my teacher to help me with it. Guess what, the neckline is even more tedious. After this, I will have to stitch the front and back piece together. When the piece is finally completed, I tried it on and found that the neckline is actually kind of small for my head to pass through. But the piece fits quite nicely on me.

Till today, I had only wore it for once or twice. The last time when I tried to put it on, I found that it had actually become shorter and the neckline, more tedious for me to put on. Since then, I have been keeping it in my cupboard. Hee...

My very first knit project - Shawl

I always have this interest to knit something for myself. To me, knitting somehow seems to be a very womanly thing to do.

About 3 to 4 years ago, I enrolled and started knitting with another 2 colleagues of mine. However, sad to say, they only stayed with me for less than six months in the hobby. One of them even stopped attending classes after the very first class.

My teacher always says that knitting is an artwork. Hence, my very first piece of artwork is a shawl. As it only requires the knit and purl stitch, it is the most basic stitch for us to build up our knitting foundation. As I was a casual knitter, which means that I only knit when I feel like knitting, it took me about 6 months to complete this shawl.

The design of the shawl is actually very simple. However, due to the hot weather and fashion trend in Singapore, I had never wore the shawl before. Not even once.

Today, the shawl is sleeping in my cupboard. Guess, unless I get to travel, I will rarely get a chance to wear it.

MY Blogskin

Finally, decided to settle for this skin in the meantime, after a very long search. But still feel that this is not actually what I want.

Maybe see how. If I have the time, might start searching again.
